BTS Racing Scores First Top Ten Finish in Argentina

BTS Racing has secured its first top-ten finish of the 2025 season. During the first race of the MX2 World Championship in Cordoba, Argentina, Oriol Oliver finished ninth in the second moto. Jens Walvoort also scored points with an 18th place finish in the second moto.

The Cordoba circuit is new to the World Championship calendar. The organizers put a lot of effort into building the track and were successful in doing so. The enthusiasm of the crowd was also high, as thousands of spectators lined the circuit to watch the season’s opening race.

The weekend began positively for the team on Saturday, with Oliver qualifying in ninth place and Walvoort just one position behind in tenth. Both riders earned their first points of the season.

On Sunday morning, rain in Cordoba turned the track into a muddy circuit. Both riders faced setbacks in the first moto, as both Oliver and Walvoort experienced mechanical issues that forced them to retire from the race early.

However, both riders made a strong comeback in the second moto. Oliver made a great start and was in second place early on. Unfortunately, a crash caused him to lose several positions. Oliver recovered well and fought for eighth place, eventually finishing in ninth. Walvoort had a poor start but was consistently in the points throughout the race. He gained positions in the middle of the race and finished in 17th.

In the overall standings, Oliver finished 15th for the day, while Walvoort occupies 20th place after the first race. The championship will continue in two weeks in Cozar, Spain.
